Woman in the Van

about

One of the biggest aspects of my journey with music is the wonderful connections and friendships I get to make along the way. “Woman in the Van” was inspired by one of those friends - the wonderful Frauke who travels Europe with her van and her cat. I met Frauke and Andreas at one of my shows and they have since organized and hosted several shows with me and became dear friends.

One evening after a show we were sitting around their kitchen table and talking about Fraukes journey with her van when inspiration struck. Her love for the van and the freedom it brings to trust the road you are on is just so beautiful and joyful. So I wrote a song about it right there in that moment. We realized that I had written a bit of an anthem to Van life and decided that this was one to record.

Frauke and Andreas had told me about their wonderful friend Dhwani Zapp who runs a studio before, and this felt like the perfect chance to meet him. And so we spent two days in Dhwanis studio bringing “Woman in the Van” to life. He continued working on it and recorded drums with Rishi S.Vlote, then Roger Keller (my dad) and I polished and added a few things to the mix like the mandolin in the intro and sent it all the way to Dominic Romano in California to mix and master.

It was so fun to work on this song in the studio, I am so used to recording alone in my lil home studio (aka my grandmothers cellar haha). It’s a light and joyful song and listening back to it always brings a smile to my face. I hope it makes you just as happy as it makes me!

lyrics

Will she go?
Will she stay?
Will she find you on the way?
Will she go?
Will she stay?
Oh there is no way to say

She’s the woman in the van
The woman in the van
Finding her place in the world
She’s the woman in the van
The woman in the van
If she follows her heart
She knows she won’t be hurt

And she sees the world
Passing by her window
She sees the world
Disappear with her sorrow

She’s finding her way
This is her day
The woman the van and adventure
She’s finding her way
This is her day
The flowers are blooming just for her

It will be alright
The road is clear and full of sunshine
It will be alright
The van is her dream with a beautiful design

Will she go?
Will she stay?
Will she find you on the way?
Will she go?
Will she stay?
Oh there is no way to say

She’s the woman in the van
The woman in the van
Finding her place in the world
She’s the woman in the van
The woman in the van
If she follows her heart
She knows she won’t be hurt

It will be alright
The road is clear and full of sunshine
It will be alright
The van is her dream with a beautiful design
It will be alright
The road is clear and full of sunshine
It will be alright
The van is her dream with a beautiful design

Will she go?
Will she stay?
Will she find you on the way?
Will she go?
Will she stay?
Oh there is no way to say

about

Luna Keller Cologne, Germany

I'm a singer-songwriterholic who loves making indie folky songs and putting my soul on paper.

Music was part of my life, I remember listening to my parents doing music when I was little and singing along getting all the lyrics wrong. I was thirteen when I picked up one of my dad's guitars and 19 when I moved out to become a full time musician. I am so grateful to be on this path!
